What I like best about Berlin is that its such a laid back kind of hip city. Unlike the maniacal pace of London, New York, or Tokyo, even unlike the buzzy city of Paris, Berlin manages to be a chilled out city that is still on the cutting edge.
One of my favourite things to do when I'm there is to walk around. The architecture is excellent and the artwork you stumble onto is also brilliant. Not to mention the excellent people watching in the evenings on Oranienburgstrasse.
I have a love hate relationship with Heal's. A lot of their stuff is blah (design-wise) and overpriced. What you can find there you are likely to find a better version of for a cheaper price somewhere else. However, their place as a high street market leader in the UK means that they sometimes do knock offs of high design items at respectable prices and their ability to move stock at high volume means, there's usually something new to discover at the large Tottenham Court branch.
And that is how I originally stumbled across the bed in the photo above just a little under a year ago.
Its officially 6 days before Christmas, are you ready? I'm not. I still have Christmas cards to write, decorations to put up, gifts to buy (not to mention wrap), and a meal to shop and cook for... but I'm not worried. With internet shopping and a little bit of luck, it will all be okay. Pleasurable even.
I definitely had fun buying a bunch of these off the internet to give to friends as part of their Christmas present this year.
What is she? Why she's Unazukin-chan and she's here to listen, help you make decisions, and make you smile at the same time.
Almost a month ago before we left for our trip to asia we went to Olympia in London to see the 100% Design exhibit. In particular there were some fantastic lighting displays:
Makes you go Ahhh
Makes you go, ha ha ha!
Makes you clap your hands in excitement
Okay, maybe only makes people like me clap their hands. I haven't ordered from them yet but they had a great selection of pens, paper, and general art supplies.
